Code Of Conduct
UMAX is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all participants, regardless of their gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities,
neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion (or lack thereof), or other protected category. Both the company and the people
we represent — our employees, startups, directors, sponsors, speakers, attendees — must hold themselves to the highest standards as members of the UMAX
community.
We recognize that each of us is an ambassador for UMAX and reflects the organization and its values in our actions. As part of the UMAX global community, we must
always act justly and respectfully. Those who do not abide by this Code of Conduct may be removed from the community and/or organization. All employees, directors,
outsource supporters, participants, guests, and team members of UMAX are required to abide by this code of conduct. We will enforce this code throughout any
activity, gatherings and workshops regulated by UMAX.
Integrity
UMAX employees are expected to act and perform their duties ethically and honestly and with the utmost integrity. We strive to be transparent in all of our
communications. Our reputation as a company that our community can trust is our most valuable asset, and it is up to all of us to make sure that we continually earn
that trust.
Privacy Policy
Our community trusts us with their personal information, and, in turn, we use all of the appropriate measures at our disposal to secure it. We respect requests for
privacy and confidentiality.
Behavior
• Be respectful of all participants. This includes avoiding offensive language and behavior and respecting personal space.
• Be mindful of your surroundings. Be aware of your noise levels and the impact you may be having on others.
• Be responsible for your actions. Take care of the physical environment and respect the property of others.
Report any harassment or inappropriate behavior to a UMAX management immediately.
Photography
UMAX may take photographs at events and workshops. Participants who do not wish to be photographed should notify a UMAX management. UMAX reserves the right
to use photographs for promotional purposes. Participants who appear in photographs and wish to have them removed should contact a UMAX management.
Harassment
UMAX has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment. Harassment includes any unwelcome behavior that is based on a person’s protected category and creates an
intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment. Examples of harassment include:
• Offensive verbal comments
• Deliberate intimidation
• Stalking
• Harassing photography or recording
• Sustained disruption of talks or other events
• Inappropriate physical contact
• Unwelcome sexual attention
• If you are being harassed, please report it to a UMAX staff member immediately. You will be taken seriously and supported.
Property Damage
Participants are responsible for any damage they cause to UMAX property. If you damage UMAX property, you will be required to pay for the repairs.
Illegal Activity
UMAX prohibits the use of its facilities for any illegal activity. This includes pornography and downloading copyrighted material. If you are caught engaging in illegal
activity on UMAX premises, you will be banned from the premises and may face legal consequences.
Violations
Any participant who violates the code of conduct may be banned from UMAX events and workshops. UMAX reserves the right to take any other action it deems
necessary to protect the safety and well-being of its participants.
Reporting Harassment
If you are being harassed, please report it to a UMAX management immediately. You can also report harassment anonymously by filling out a form on the UMAX
website. UMAX management are trained to handle reports of harassment and will take your report seriously. You will be supported throughout the process and your
confidentiality will be protected.
